ALOT of Japanese fathers do this in the comics. There was one I read that was really horrific. His daughter was only 19 and a virgin and he basically sold her off to a rich CEO thinking he was going to marry her. It turned out the bastard only wanted to use her to be sex slave for his "clients" (and there were ALOT of them).
The scumbag admitted this to the father after correcting him he wasn't going to marry his daughter (he would fuck her tho) and that she was basically going to a whore for sale. Rather than refused the father put his company first and abandoned the daughter and ran away.
After that, she was drugged, gang-raped as part of "orgies" and forced to service a client nearly every day. Meanwhile, the daughter was doing this should HIS debt and take responsibility for HIS company as ran away like a coward.
She was near suicidal.
In the end the daughter forgave her father when he returned and the father still try to act high and mighty to the scumbag he sold his daughter to. i
The daughter also ended up with the security guard she fell in love with but did not help her as he watched her be abused, raped (even gang-raped) for his brother's entertainment and sell her like merchandise due to his "loyalty" to his brother that he even risked his life to save in the end and BEG (the scumbag that was pimping his gf) to "accept" their relationship.
I think there is something wrong with Japanese men and how they perceive women.

I read the whole thing and the most disturbing wasn't even the abuse. It was that she eneded up with her security guard that faciliated alot of her odreal and refused even help her when she was getting gang-raped by the scumbag's "clients" due to his "loyalty" to his half brother that hates him.
It was that she FORGAVE her father that sold her into sex slavery and there was "happy-ending" with a white wedding and smiles with her pathetic father and her inept father-in-law that allowed his sociopath son take full of his company due to "guilt" over him loving the security guard son more.
These men are all pathetic. I was speechless when I saw the wedding scene, and was wtf is this shit? have you forgotten what these people put you through?!!
More importantly that the scumbag that pimped and abused her got ZERO retribution for what he did. Other than feeling "regret" (boohoo!). Even the bullet that meant for him the idiot ML nearly died taking it in his place.
I found it amusing there was a scene from their "honey-moon" (yes thats how bad the manga was) when they are in Thailand and her husband (coward security guard) gets jealous seeing her in a bikini and men checking her out. I was like wtf????
You literally stood back watching and DID NOTHING when she was being sadistically tortured, humiliated, raped, gang-banged against her will, and even stopped her from trying to run away from that hell-hole at one point. Yet THAT bothers you?
My point is that I think this type of story and how there is a recurring theme and pattern in the behavior of the men indicates there is something wrong in Japanese society in how they treat and perceive women. Even family memebers.
Oh fuck I think ive come across that and ran as I soon as I realized how fucked it was. I just want to know what the fuck was wrong with the author for them to write that.
Like I keep reiterating I think this is largely a cultural issue when it comes to roles and treatment of women in that society. That something like that (and many similar cases) have the same recurring themes, origins and ends.

I know right. He woudln't rescue her while watched and stood still "guarding" as she was being forcefully gang banged (she's still only 19 at the time) by his brother's "clients" for an entertainment party since people were complaining the waiting list to have sex with her (she was often sleeping with more than one man a day) was "too long". So the shitbag brother thought "why not invite lots clients all on one day" to have sex with her for a gang bang special. He did NOTHING to protect or help her. It had to be another friend (and their cousin) who intervened but still, the bodyguard told her she needed to go back when the cousin tried to take her away because he was outraged at what his cousin was doing to a poor innocent girl for his amusement and for "business". He was even more disgusted at the "good guy" ML bodyguard that didn't do anything to help her.
The FL was submissive and although the "event" got cancelled (she was still raped prior by multiple men) that day it got rearranged for another day with a longer guest list.
The ML did NOTHING to stop her from being raped, humiliated and abused by all those men and tormented by his brother for all that time. Yet someone tries to shoot his shitbag brother and the first thing he does it (after begging on his knees for him to "accept" his relationship with the FL lol) is take the bullet for him.
So the only bit of justice that shitbag brother might have gotten was prevented by his "duitful" brother that put nowhere near as much of effort to protect the FL while she was being pimped daily.
it's worth noting that the FL in that story developed severe PTSD that even after she got amnesia she was still traumatized from her memories of having to sleep with all those men daily against her will while she was a sex slave. She was even given drugs to make her more "docile" to receiving clients. It's a very disturbing manga but the most disturbing part was how the author decided to end it. NOBODY faced any retribution either karmic or legally for what they did to the girl. The wedding/honeymoon scenes made me sick.
I mention this story because its simply an extreme version of a theme and pattern of behavior I see recurring in ALOT of Japanese comics that when it comes to the mistreatment of the women or women being sacrificed to shoulder the burderns of the debts or irresponsibility of the men in their lives.
Just once I would like a FL in this situation say: "Fuck you, I'm not whoring myself and throwing my life away to PAY for YOUR debts and mistakes. What kind of scumbag tries to do this? Go to hell and on the way there try to pay your bills in the process".
Is her father really gonna marry her off to 50 years old man like omg...
