Well, if it doesn't happen, I am hoping for character development at least in the future if not now.

Well, I think she does act that way (submissive) because she wants to survive. That's why she's kind of just being a pushover. She's scared because she thinks if she goes against his word, for example, he can just kill her in an instant. But well, surviving and living are two different things. She can survive without actually living or she is living cause she survived... smthn like that XD! Anyway, I get what you mean. I do hope she can grow a backbone in the future to finally stand up for herself and realize that she's also a human who deserves more.
Yeah I totally see what you're saying. I think also why I want her to be more proactive is because I love when women take charge, I don't want her to depend on arsen for protection forever. Totally makes sense she has NO other choice right now else the knights probably would have killed her, but she's a kings fiance, she has more power than she realizes and I think it would be awesome to see her realize it . Ohhh like it would be cool if she took down the empress dowager instead of arsen like way down the line.

I hope he doesn't bust in and straight up save her. I hope she pops up as fast as possible and rams into the guy, knocking him over, and then runs out the door as fast as possible. Obvs the knights who are trained soldiers and don't have their hands tied behind their backs will be faster, but then at that point, the commotion let's arsen find her and then he can swoop in. I just want her to be a little bit more active / proactive in this story. She hasnt done much. I can't blame her for that too much considering her circumstances but like don't just completely give up and depend on a man you're still terrified of.
