Well that's deeps it's like looking at a cartoon and making up fake theories that the directors didn't even know of and they made the cartoon, well letting the pictures speak for them self is not a bright idea some people may see the other side of things than other people do but it's just what the person who made the comment thinks I can't disagree cuz it's yk people hate me when I speak my opinion and it's too late in the night to get attacked plus I'd be super mad if the noti popped up and it's not a manga cuz I'm waiting for mangas╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
no there is no missing chapter, old xian just throwing us for a loop in angst once again. this chapter is interesting tho bc the author doesn’t give a lot of dialogue and let’s the images speak for themselves (which is probably why so many are confused bc we aren’t really given an explicit reason for the angsty undertone, she sorta leaves it open for readers to guess based on the visual aspect only). I wonder if mo is struggling with his school studies esp with the way he looked at his mom sleeping.. we know how hard he tries for her so I wonder if maybe it’s supposed to depict how difficult he finds the work and how he struggles internally in wanting to be a better son for her. i saw someone mention “he tian told him he’s leaving” but I don’t think the author would skip over an important scene like that, they never have. and they wouldn’t be vague about it either, they would definitely have been more explicit in that being the reason if that were the case. the author doesn’t ever gloss over vitally important scenes like that. the author seems to put a lot of hyperfocused imagery on mo watching his mother and the school work so i think it’s supposed to be about his struggles of internal conflict in being a better son/man for his parents, esp for his dad who he always wants to make proud. plus I believe he tian leaves when they’re adults/older — he doesn’t ‘disappear’ like jian yi does nor does it happen around the same time as jian yi’s absence based on the christmas special we read a while ago. it seems to happen much, much later. and he tells mo, he doesn’t ‘disappear’ with no word like jian yi does when jian yi is taken on the second day of high school.
as for he tian, he looks drained and zhan zheng xi seemed to notice … he’s probably thinking about the issues with his brother and family and the role they want him to play.
even jian yi saying how he wishes he could be happy like that all the time brings us a reminder that he isn’t and still has a lot of baggage and issues of his own with his terrible childhood and family life / mafia connection… it shows us how even tho he’s a character who smiles a lot of the time, he ISNT always happy all the time and most of the time puts on a facade so he doesn’t burden others. he’s trying to appreciate this moment of happiness bc he doesn’t get them often.
this whole chap has a bunch of undertones of angst… after all those comedic skit chapters, i shoulda known the author had to throw in a bit of angst in the end.
