Yeah, I saw that too. Two thoughts, other than twenty bucks my a**:
"That'll get him down to the next seven eleven if it was actually twenty." And
"That’s only twenty dollars to me if I was in Nippori."

Taxis are really expensive in Japan; it is almost never recommended to take one while you are traveling there, thanks to their beautiful public transportation system. I get why he took a taxi. I'm glad our "Mousie" didn't have to pay for it so he could send his money to his family.

I really want to see how the fox met and fell for Mousie. I bet it was before he became his editor but it is really unclear when that would have happened.
