Yeah, that chapter hurts a lot but the girl didn’t really stay long she was only there for like a one or two chapter and they didn’t really do anything. Honestly it’s because they’re not communicating properly haha that’s why he’s also insecure and he needed a lot of reassurance from tina, he demanded her to tell him she loves him every time even if she didn’t mean it

The novel has a lot of angst towards the end.. yes the end. Tina and Duke Theo had a pretty lovey-dovey relationship & even had numerous nsfw chaps throughout the whole novel until Duke Theo/Thereode found out about Martina and King Theo,, he was pretty much insecure & thought Tina only stayed by his side because he looks like King Theo… he became so insecure he pushed Tina away & demanded a divorce & even brought a new girl in. I can understand why Duke Thereode was so insecure is because Tina doesn’t really deny that she still loves King Theodore and Duke Theo was practically begging for her love & insisting he’s not the King (I honestly feel so bad for him throughout the whole story). The new girl Duke Theo brought was called Chloe, she really didn’t do much and stayed away from the couple because she can see how much the Duke loves Tina (because he visits her bedroom every night when she’s asleep lol) then she left on her own because she felt like there’s no place for her in the Duke’s life. Tina and the Duke didn’t divorce even Chloe could tell that the two mutually love each other, it’s just that Tina is still confuse if she’s really in love with Duke Theo not because he looks like the King. Tina can clearly see that the Duke treated her better than the King. They’ll resolve it all in the end.
Addition: Martina was infertile and King Theodore married another woman and Duke Theo was a descendant that had the King’s blood that’s why he looked so much like him (it wasn’t clearly mentioned if Duke was a reincarnated King Theo because he didn’t have any memories of the King) anyway that’s also why King Theodore betrayed Martina because he found out that he had Waldo’s curse and so the King wanted Martina to rule the Kingdom but there’s no way for a woman to rule an Empire so he labeled himself a traitor & revolted against the Kingdom to have Martina rule & kill him (it was tragic).

And the only way to lift it is with Leta’s forgiveness, specifically if a Leta falls in love with one of King Theodore’s bloodline, btw Chloe the woman I mentioned earlier she comes from a Leta bloodline that’s why Duke Thereode chose her as a mistress.
