I once complained here in the comment section that I am tired to see the plot where the young awkward weird outsider girl with special abilities is getting bullied by her peers or many stupid assholes in her conservative enviroment. They unreasonably fear, hate + discriminate her for being different and scapegoating and accuse her for being cursed. I hate seeing such innocent/decent meek girls getting destroyed for having some strange power...
Other similar examples: Mitsuyokon Tsukumogami no Yomegoryou + Natsume Yuujinchou (Male MC & his Grandmother in flashback) + Bloody Sweet/Honey Blood (Lee Narae) + The Ancient Magus Bride.
What all these stories have all in common is that the situation of the more often female Protagonist who can see ghosts/spirits/demons can only improve for the better when powerful supernatural male entities appear in their lifes. They practically save them from their current toxic unbearable setting.
I complained that there aren't actually Western or Asian comics about a girl or a boy turning their "curse" into a blessing/useful weapon against assholes on their own and loving it... After lots of pondering, I finally remember!
I like to recommend these scary endearing girls (Dark Goddesses) who embrace their creepyness, love being different and their own abilities AND don't give a crap how most people view them. They sure love to scare off/punish bad persons.(▰˘◡˘▰):
Sunako (Yamato Nadeshiko/Perfect Girl Evolution - NOT THE LIVE ACTION), Wednesday Addams (The Addams Family or Adult Wednesday) and Nanno (Girl From Nowhere) Side note: Sunako starts kinda weak and very self-concious but she becomes stronger and crazier without ever losing her dark core.
