Oh my yes. I have A LOT to say about him.
To be honest Eclis is such an amazing character the author was amazing to make him and all the plot twists the surrounds him. Anyways spoiler alert
Eclis hated Penelope since the day she bought him... He hated her because she belong to the empire who destroyed his homeland and hated her because she bought him. But he weirdly starts to develop and attachment towards and well yeah he falls in love with deeply. We all know Penelope chose Eclis since she felt he was the one who was going to understand her character the most and funny thing...Eclis felt the same way. Eclis felt Penelope was harassed just like him so his attachment grows and he wants to be with her all the time. His feelings becomes more and more dark when he realizes the Crown prince is related to Penelope and he knows something is going on. This because Eclis hates the empire and now his master who he loves is related to the crown prince of the empire, because of this Eclis wants to like "claim" Penelope. He will be stubborn and acts hurts because he knows Penelope needs him so she will alywas go and check on him (he actually says in a part that he knows that his master will come for him all the time so Eclis knows Penelope is dependent of him so he likes it). Well sadly he is the one who brings the fake Ivonne to the mansion. Before this, Eclis is helping others slaves from his homeland and apparently this slaves were fleeing somewhere and Eclis will tell Penelope that they should escape together. He will point out how everyone treats her bad and that she only needs to be with him but Penelope tells him no (part of this because in this part Penelope had already develop feelings for the crown prince). Anwyas so in this part where the slave were feeling he sees Ivonne and he was going to kill her because he knows she is dangerous to Penelope bt Ivonne tells him that if she goes to the mansion Penelope will be kicked and she will depend on him so Eclis betrays Penelope so she would be with him and only him. Penelope gets to know this because she confronts Eclis and this is little bit sad but..... in the confrontation Eclis tells her he know she was using him for her protection, he knows that she doesnt love him but also knows that she is aware the he loves her so much. (he fucked) After the confrontation Penelope will throw the ring (the one controlling his collar) and tells him that she is no longer his master. This is important since Eclis needed Penelope to be his master, he was obsessed with her. I said the brother was a tsundere well Eclis is a Yandere. He has this big ass emotional breakdown and cries for her. Ivonne will come to him and tries to use hypnosis on him since she believed Eclis hated Penelope but nop. Eclis will strangle Ivonne and tell her something like "you said she was going to be mine" something like that so Ivonne realizes how much the characters love Penelope and she even says to herslef (scared) "I really need to get rid of Penelope". But yeah Eclis loved her but in the wrong way... but at the same time I dont blame him since he never truly harmed her

He is the BEST male character of the novel, and the only male character who NEVER betrayed, harmed or used Penelope (I mean it he is the only one). So he was always the last option for Penelope, to be exact he was never an option because she knew he was a crazy murderer buuuut she realizes she was wrong (I will explain this later). So our first impression of him was because he almost killed Penelope in the park right? Well he will apologize about this. Anyways the Crown prince at first was genuinely interested in Penelope for 2 reasons: 1. she said she was in love with him just like that and my guy was like ? why though what is wrong with you; this because the crown prince is well aware of his public image. 2. because he is intrigue about the famous "the eckharts mad dog" because he feels they would get along since he is the crazy bastard prince haha. He begins to send her letters and stuff and even though Penelope tried to ignore him they become very close in a short time. In the Hunting, Penelope will be hunting and she was almost killed by a mutan big ass monster bear and the crown prince was the one who helped her. He is again intrigued by why this "noblewomen" was doing this things. Anyways so we know the crown prince has a bad relationship with the former empress; she is always trying to kill him (since he was a child it is so sad) so what happen was that while they were together after killing the bear, the Crown prince was going to take Penelope to the camping site with him (they were riding a horse together (●'◡'●)ﾉ buuuut they were attack by assassins (like 20 the former empress was no joking around). Penelope was able to help the crown prince with her crossbow (I love that thing) but the crown prince was actually shot in the arm but no biggie. They were corner at some point but they were able to escape buuuut like any cliche manga they fell from a cliff to a river (pretends to be shocked). Penelope wakes up, she is a cage in her underwear and the crown prince with his trousers only (yup he undressed Penelope but because she was wet (sexy time nah im kidding). They were there for a while and talk to each other. Remember how the crown prince almost killed her? when they first met? well while they were talking he asked her why was she always like on the defensive with him and she tells him "you tried to kill me" and my boy was like what when??? and she said well in the garden... he stays quite and he said "I was not going to kill you..." at first it gave me bad vibes but later when he explain more about his bakground made me understand something. The crown prince is always at the defensive, he is always being watched and everyone wants to kill him. Also even though the eckharts are a neutral faction in the empire, he is well aware that the duke does not like him... sooo he saw Penelope, alone in the garden where coincidentally he was there too so he was just ready to kill anyone to be exact haha. But that is the only bad incident between them. So there time in the cave was nice (it was here that I a realized he was the main lead because no other character engage with Penelope like this) They were able to escape the cave but the crown prince fainted because when he was shot it was a poisonous arrow. Penelope call for help but everyone blamed her? how funny but Penelope was able to defend herself but while defending herself she calmed she met the crown prince for private matters (she implied they were in a relationship). After this, Penelope would visit the crown prince chambers because he was in a coma and talk to him and he finally woke up and its so funny cause he was going to reward her anything but she just said "please don't kill me" (because she said they were in a relationship to help her defense when she was on trial). A lot of things happened bu the crown prince starts to develop real feelings for her and when I mean real is because Penelope is not forcefully trying to win him (like she did with Eclis) she is being herself and with no ulterior motives. In fact Penelope will say how he is the only character that she has never faked anything, and the only one she felt truly comfortable. But not only her... there is going to be a ball for his birthday and the crown prince will ask her to be in a real relationship with him and this was so cute and I almost cried but he said how he never needed to hide anything from her and how comfortable he was, that he doesn't know if its because of love or anything but he knows that if he is with her things are gong to be ok (sobs). She the fake Ivonne comes by he NEVER looked her way, he was alywas on Penelope side and when Penelope drank poison he was nursing her most of the time. He helped Penelope leave the house and homeboy was ready to kill the Eckharts if he had to hahaha. Anyways he is the best character, he supports her and trust her; even when he find out she was a wizard (because wizards are a taboo in the empire). Oh and they will kiss (づ￣ ³￣)づ. He is also very pitiful because he never shows weakness since he was told that the future emperor most not have flaws but he showed his most vulnerable side too Penelope. He also didn't care about her reputation, he believed her and what he saw (not like the other characters who would judge her just because she is breathing). So yeah crown prince is an excelente ml because YES HE IS HE IS THE MAIN LEAD. If he was not the main lead I would have gone to Reynold (the marquis is sus) Oh and any time Penelope is in danger he is there to protect er and save her

As someone who has read the novel this is my professional opinion of the family (the professional part was a joke haha)
The father: he has a great character development of the family. He finds out about EVERYTHING Penelope has gone through in the house and outside of it. To the point he completely destroyed the dining room and built a new on (If you don't remember, Penelope was mostly harassed by maids from the kitchen since she was not eating properly). He will find out that everything he has been told that she has done is actually not true, for example he still thinks Penelope tried to steal Ivonnes necklace when she was a child but Reynold will tell his father that it was him who did it and blamed Penelope in the past. After this the father becomes much more protective of Penelope and is constantly asking for forgiveness. Besides that, when 'Ivonne" comes back he doesn't change at all, in fact he is scared Penelope is going to be hurt and not "Ivonne". Oh and also he reflects on how he failed as a father so yeah 10/10 character development here
Reynold (2nd brother): so he has always been a constant bully and stuff. Though his reason for hating her was because he heard her praying for Ivonne to never come back he never truly fully hated Penelope. His biggest mistake was the necklace thing but in my opinion he was the first to ever protect Penelope in the house and to see her injustice (though it was his fault that it came to that). Reynold is also the first one to ever ask forgiveness and he will keep doing it since Penelope will tell him that all her injustices in the house is his fault and boy in that part he was almost shaking and crying lol. After this, Reynold would go to his father and tell him everything, how he framed Penelope with the necklace incident and other injustice she has gone through because pf his attitude (He got a good beating lol) Also when the fake Ivonne comes to the house at first he protects Penelope and only trusts her; this part actually made me feel good but sad because Penelope will leave the house because she is scared of Ivonne and scared that no one will trust her so yeah but Reynold would be literally drinking AND CRYING for Penelope. He would be saying stuff in a drunk state like "I will buy you whatever necklace you want" (basically saying he will spoiled her with anything she wants) and also asking for forgiveness over and over; this is so funny because the Butler will be loyal to Penelope and the Duke (father) so when renyold was acting like this the butler was calling him pathetic (since the butler also believed all the rumors of Penelope which those rumors were Reynolds fault, so when the Bulter finds out that most of all were lies he was ashamed of himself and blame the bothers. He becomes a loyal vassal to Penelope) Oh and he will protect Penelope from Derrick (1st brother) constant injustice towards Penelope since Derrick is a bitch and a piece of shit....sooo also great character development. Lastly there will be a situation coming up in the hunting arc where Reynold is the only one who trust Penelope and knew she didn't do what she was been accused for
Derrick (1st brother): Oh this mf is a piece of shit let me tell you. So here is a funny thing, he doesnt like Penelope to call him brother right? at first I was like well he has his traumas since he blames himself when Ivonne was captured so he is in complete denial and hoping that she is still alive (basically not letting go). Buuuuut I believe there is another reason.... so you'll see but every time Penelope is close to the prince his favoribiltity goes down sooo quick. He is always defensive to Penelope even when he is beyond 50% like dude calm down and there was a scene that gave me the chills. So for Penelope's birthday he got her a bird...a bird that has her same hair color.... but yeah because she wanted that gem last year that this bird gives (the birth eggs are gems idk man you know no manhwa makes sense haha) so he wants to give this to her but she doesnt want it (since we all know from all the characters he is the one who has given her the most trauma) so she told him to free the bird but he said no; he was going to keep the birth in the cage.... ANYWAYS MOVING ON. He is an asshole towards her but at the same time treats her good so what he is? A tsundere. He has never been openly rude to her but he just judges her and doesnt trust her at all. When the fake Ivonne comes he is the first one to be under the hypnosis and fo course treated Penelope bad but he breaks the hypnosis when he hears the fake Ivonne saying how much she wants to kill Penelope so my dude was "You are not my sister she would never say anything like that" and even though I hated the fake Ivonne boy did she made him suffer and felt GOOOOD. So Penelope will drink poison in a tea since she knows Ivonne is trying to frame her, so she drinks the poison because she feels that was the best thing to do so when Penelope wakes up she is going to sy that she did it because her life in the mansion was miserable. SOOO fake Ivonne will tell Derrick that she knows he loves Penelope and she tells him something like "how does it feel that women you love so much tried to kill herself because of you?" and my boy has a mental breakdown because Derrick has been in love with Penelope since a looooong time ago but he was disgusted of it so he was a Tsundere basically. He is kind of obsessed with her...like he wants to always control her and stuff but ill give him credit because he didnt knew either about her bad treatment in the mansion so when realizes about how she is a victim of harassment of the people in the mansion, he will fire anyone who disrespects her. In fact, there is going to be a scene where some soldiers are trying to bully Eclis by saying that who knows what Penelope makes him to do because she gives him to many gifts (yeah so basically they were implying he was a sex slave). Derrick gets to know this and bye bye soldiers. So yeah from all the male characters he is the one who suffers the most because of Penelope not loving him and he also suffers so much because of his past behavior
