They did take a real trip. Out of country DATE (for real, like they were taking walks and even checked in a Lord's house-- then Asher made them write receipts as proof that they were really out doing shiz) while a clusterfuck is happening in their country. But the guards couldn't find Aria anywhere, 'cuz ya, Asher yeeted themselves out of the country.
But Mielle was testifying that Asher teleported out of nowhere and took Aria, which then lead the people to easily believe Asher's accusation of her taking drugs. Lol

So Aria becomes too shaken on what happened to immediately use the hourglass (I mean, who wouldn't? Crazy ass bitch just tried to kill her own father for god knows why).
But the bracelet Asher gave which snapped when Aria reached her hand out to her father was actually imbued with magic that lets Asher know is Aria is in danger when it snaps.
So he appears out of nowhere (Yes, infront of Mielle), and yeets himself out and Aria outta there. Mielle insistently accuses Aria did it with all her acting and even dragging her dumb lackeys to "testify" that Aria was indeed the one who did it.
So Aria becomes a fugitive 'cuz she went MIA. But Asher was actually having Aria and him run around different places (and even a different country), so she'd have an alibi.
Eventually a trial is held and since Asher and Aria had concrete proof that they were not in the country when the fall happened, Mielle and her lackeys were accused of taking drugs by Asher (LMAO! ), and was then treated guilty and an evil bitch who tried to kill her father out of jealousy towards Aria. The judge also had a huge bias towards Aria 'cuz she closely resembled her brother.
However, Mielle is a noble and a minor as such she was only sent to noble prison and eventually house arrest, but was never seen in a positive light by anyone anymore. Even Cain abandoned her in the trial 'cuz he was actually INVOLVED (the fucker) in the "Push Father and Blame Aria" agenda. Reason being he wanted to confine Aria and stop the marriage (Gross fucking psycho).
