Question:

It's not only about Korea about every country if child gets too much attention they feel burden and if they don't get attention they feel nobody cares about them .

I guess that would be a generalizing statement, and i don't mean to offend anyone or claim its true, but i read somewhere that Asian families often raise mentally and emotionally stressed people due to the lack of love and affection in their culture. Especially since apparently they tend to compare their children. Again i only read this im not saying its actually true.

Well, I’m Asian and this rings true to my family to some extent. I just want to know if it’s less or more severe in Korea, being that so many of manhwas I have read tend to revolve on this topic.

a lot of asian families (im asian) place high expectations on children and view education as something very important for their future, topped with a very harsh education system (just read up on the stress sokor’s suneung exam brings students) — school basically determines your social standing and future career, unlike, say, america, where experience & skill matters more [which is why the pressure on teachers like jiri is also extremely high]

Thank you for mentioning this!!! I learned more today. I am american therefore different education systems always interest me since i often hear people saying that america has very "free" schooling but im out here dying taking college level courses in high school and now being one year ahead in college

Asian mom : BE LIKE OUR NEIGHBOUR'S KID OR AUNTIE'S KID OR MY FRIEND'S KID but never be yourself (cause you are a disappointment)

Not to brag but I was this “neighbour’s kid” to many of my peers before and well now look at me (〜￣△￣)〜
