Same, my partner can’t stand how my parents treat me. He tells me I shouldn’t be talked to like that. But it’s all I’ve ever known. Healing from that kinda of abuse takes time. You have to tell yourself certain things to cope with it.
I feel that. Learned from a very young age how to read the "room" when my parents were around. Practically raised my younger sister and me by myself. Honestly, if it wasnt for my husband telling me that it wasnt the normal way a family should function, I wouldnt have known. My parents still attempt to gaslight me near constantly, even though ive been married for 2 years and havent lived with them for at least 6 years now.
In my family it's just like that, so it's best to keep quiet and do what your told. If you get angry then they say your being disrespectful, so I just smile and nod
