Me too!! When I first saw it I wasn't expecting much. Like you said the romance, pacing and even characters are just right. 'Ebony' is a refreshing break from the huge number Historical (they should put the tag rebirth in it) manhwa's I have read. I suggest you read 'A Stepmother's Märchen'. The story is historical (and rebirth) and the plot is as good as 'Ebony'. It may not be romance (or maybe it is idk) but the character growth is almost like 'Ebony' with the MC starting out as weak but slowly growing stronger. (=・ω・=)
Funny thing is, a stepmother's märchen is one of my fave historical manhwas!! Maybe that's why i also liked Ebony. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

At first when i started reading this, i wasn't really expecting anything. Thinking that this is like the same common story and stuff i was shocked on how GOOD THIS STORY IS. the pacing is so good! it's not that slow and not so fast, it's perfect! And also the romance is just right, although s2 ended with a cliffhanger, i must say this story is just what kind of historical manhwa i wanted. It wasn't dramatic nor boring, it's just right. I love the bond ebona has with her fellow prisoners, their friendship is so beautiful. I absolutely cannot explain how much i love this story so much. This is so beautiful. So if any of you are hesitating on reading this, try to read the first 10 chapters before deciding whether u wanna drop it or not. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
