it's because Maetel said he likes someone but didn't said who it is. that's why Louis is so confused and helpless
Because Louis looks like the white rabbit (who's actually Louis too) matael lost long ago... and Louis thinks he's just a copy of this rabbit and matael just "uses" him (:

If I'm not mistaken, Maetel asked louis to be his white rabbit because he his old white rabbit ran away. (I think the white rabbit maetel is referring to is Louis).
