i dont necessarily believe that it’s because she ignored him, cause she really didn’t. it was more that she tried and is respecting his boundaries. Also with her personality change, it’s normal to peak interest.

Agreed. Are we meant to ignore the fact that Kayena is a completely different person? Its not that she's playing hard to get, its that she went from a crazy stalker to a well mannered, intelligent and respectful person seemingly overnight. First he's intrigued by the change then he develops feelings, its pretty 1 dimensional to say "he likes her bc she doesnt like him"
I think it's because of behavior change. From what I read from the spoilers, he had some feelings for Cayena (past timeline) too. I think, he realized it this time because she changed. She now respects his boundaries. He have some issues with physical interactions but old Cayena keeps on touching him without permission. Honestly, no matter how pretty, intelligent and great a person is, they're no good if they don't respect your boundaries.
