I mean it was misleading to me tbh, but that theory is only a way that the story can take, which that is pretty obvious. Its not something set in stone so it really doesn't explain anything at all.
Even if it’s just a theory, those who couldn’t understand needed that to see and understand Horus x Seth couple dynamic, I expect something like that to happen especially because S2 will be more romance focused on Horus x Seth, and as you said, it is obvious in a way but not for everyone judging by how people are quick to call Horus toxic or feeling not too okay with them being the main CP.
Idk I'll just wait to see how the story actually plays out.
