As a book reader, who have read the LN, anime and this one... this is one of the best World Building mangas/Novel I've read.

She has a goal, which is to be a librarian. But since she dead in the other world, she needs to achieve this dream in this world through other means. And by doing that, she started doing things that might come out bratty and selfish, but hey, who's not? She's an introverted intellectual who lives in her own world, and then was isekai'd in another place where her "life" doesn't exist.

Besides pls read the continuation of this in the other Author's Works.

It gets better. Was actually afraid because her existence changed civilization itself and some ppl may use her.

heres some replies of why ppl dislike it

    1. This is my favorite review from the LN because it's just so god damn accurate, and I entirely agree. Couldn't say it better myself
"This series makes my brain lock up and start to smoke. The premise isn't any better/worse than other reincarnation/rebirth novels. The writing isn't any better/worse. If you like the slower stuff versus action, it may be for you. It's kind of nice that the MC's goal isn't vapid love or getting laid or getting laid for the thousandth time. My issue is, as a book lover, I can't find any aspect of the MC that translates to "bookworm" unless it's supposed to be literal.

Another reviewer said the title should be "Ascendance of a Book Fetishist", and I couldn't agree more. As she's flitting through the story sing-songing "Aaaah, I want to read a book", she doesn't ever seem to mention what she wants from them. Does she want a character to inspire her? A history to enlighten her about her new world? A poem to distill her turbulent thoughts? Does she want to learn about something? Anything? When she finally finds a book, does she even ask anything about it? She asks the shop keeper if she can touch it, specifically, if she can *rub her face* on it. The fantastically expensive, hand-transcribed, super-rare, finally appearing book... can she rub herself on it? No... That's okay, mister, I wouldn't let her near my collection either. I'm really hoping that sticky stuff was bookbinding glue residue.

But MCs have had weirder quirks, right? She's also pretty selfish, condescending, and, ignorant of things you'd think a well-read adult would understand. But once again, it's that bookworm part that eventually made me twitch and quit once the seizure passed. Unless I find out later she's *actually* a bookworm that reincarnated after being crushed under a pile of books by the squeamish japanese megane-chan who massively overreacted to the sudden appearance of a bug eating her library, I think I'm done with this."

So far I found her ignorance and demands so annoying that I wish I would stop reading #-.-)

3.the main character is supposed to be this well read adult, yet when she’s put into the body of a starving child from a poor family she will openly refuse to take anything close to a reasonable amount for items she sells and seeming has no idea what a commission is???, which is even more frustrating because the entire conflict of the story is that she needs money. she can and should have more but at every turn will ask for less and less money from people THAT HAVE IT and are willing to pay her extraordinary *life changing* amounts of many and all she has to say is “no thanks lol” and then spend the rest of chapter crying about how she can’t afford medicine or fire wood

and when she enters this dirty a** poverty stricken world, she just can’t seem to understand WHY people like nice soap. the story makes here seem like worst kind of reader, someone who likes looking at and collecting books but doesn’t care to understand or absorb the contents not even little. just a fancy hoarder who likes feeling smart

She looks cute but she is very selfish and careless. Her family is poor, not too poor, but lower middle-class. She is supposed to be an extremely well-read adult woman, yet she comes to be a whiny, selfish and uncaring little girl who is only interested in getting a book without wondering on how much trouble it is going to be for those around her. I will continue reading this manga for now, but if her attitude does not improve, i will get too annoyed by her. I love books, am a book-worm myself, but i cannot abide with wasting valuable resources on a pipe dream when the whole family is on the very of poverty. Books are supposed to be wonderful creations that give knowledge. Despite having knowledge, the MC does not even use the knowledge to do anything fruitful. Kind of disappointed coz while reading the mangas, i got so many ideas that could have been sold in the market to get more money but the MC ignores everything. Saad

theres plenty of reasons why but its all about her character as a person and how weird she acts. If u cant see the problem thats fine but dont be going around calling ppl bitches bc they dont like the same tasteless stuff you do.

Ill give you more since you might not be able to understand those ones.

5.This is one of the first isekai mangas I've ever read. I remember liking it, back then when it was still ongoing and I haven't read much of the genre. Now that I've read lots of good isekai works, and decided to reread this, I was surprised that I found MC's character a bit annoying.

She doesn't have the maturity of a person who claimed to have read a lot of books, instead, she's whiny, childish, and selfish. You can't even argue that it's her age because Lutz, who is the same age, is much more mature and reliable.

While you can't deny that it's her character that driven the whole plot (after all if she just accept reality the story would just end right there), when you come back after reading various isekais with wonderful MCs, you couldn't help but comparing and wish she had better attitude.

The plot is interesting but the MC makes this really hard to read. She is too whiny for a character who has read so many books and is consequently an intellectual. I can understand why she would do that though. I can’t imagine being in an era where you don’t have proper books, no shampoo, no showers, no cars(she has to walk to the forest but can’t). I would get frustrated too, but her personality still shows off as annoying regardless.

Uhm. I just started reading this and its hard to like her. Like I don't understand why she would cry if she didnt read books. I mean, it was the very first scene they should have laid it down slowly that cringe af. She cried like a brat. And proceeded to be critical with how their family is living.

It was said she read books about history. . . (basically tons of topics) and yet she has no sympathy or no understanding of the situation. She's selfish af. She cries and demands, even used food (that they barely have) on her hair. Ohmygoodness.

She's immature ohmygod she shouted at the kids that accidentally step on her clayshit. Goddamn bitch if you're going to lay them on the ground guard them and tell them while they're still far away to be careful. Ohgod.

And does she know how heavy those maderfreakin clay gets? Goddan she made multiple and it is known that she has a weak body. What does she want to do then? Fucking make the boy carry the clay? You're freaking kidding me.

Uhm so I read like maybe 6 chaps after and yep not gonna continue reading. Sorry for putting this out here. So negative but I guess I just want to be that kind of person right now.

    Pardon me saying this

But aside from her 'book fetish' or whatever, the patent selling somehow irritates me as well, if only she can play smart she can bring more decent income
I know she's only a kid but she has her old memories tho
    Seriously it's kinda frustrating
But i'll try to hang on for now

    Hope this helped.
