Yeah i'm with you on this one, it's just like you said, it's his own body. I confess i get a bit tired of this type of judgmental comments, and it happens a lot in yaoi fan base.

And the double standard is always in your face BAM: seme sleeps around he is experienced, cool (or maybe rightly called a jerk), uke sleeps around he's a slut, disgusting and gets all the girl's hate. It gets close to reality of our society and it saddens me that the majority of readers hating on the uke are girls. We should work on suppressing this double standard not strengthening it, specially us women...

As for me i care for the cute fluffy plots as much as the twisted ones, the more realistic ones and the sad ones. The only thing i cringe is when there is rape involved, followed by an arrogant seme who doesn't feel an inch of regret and an uke accepting and going along with it.

This is ethically wrong, may he be in love or not with Mio. What does Mio (sleeping with a collegue at a workplace Shino introduced his friend to...) is not cheating, but it's sure disappointing for any man/person who has a bit respect towards himself.

I can see that we have very different beliefs/values, and that's fine. I won't try to force mine onto you, as that would be a jerk move.

One thing though, Mio isn't a nymphomaniac. He can't be, because he's a MAN. Definition of the word: "a woman who has abnormally excessive and uncontrollable sexual desire."
I know in yaoi we often link uke = woman, but that's not the case. Just because he's a bottom it doesn't make him any less of a man than the seme.

Nowadays, nymphomaniac is a term more and more used for men as well.

But nymphomaniac of slutty, Mio is sure a loose guy. And the fact that here it's a Uke doesn't count much since it's not okay also if he were the Seme. The word "nymphomaniac" may be used by some to apply to men as well, but by definition it can only be applied to women, so I wrongly assumed that you looked down on the uke for having sex with others because he should be feminine and "womanly". And I've already had a very similar discussion in another tread from another manga.

Readers believe it's obvious if you're in love with someone you don't sleep with anyone else, even if it is unrequited love. In my opinion it is ridiculous, and it does not happen! Even more if you're gay and in love with a same sex straight friend. Unless you want to die a virgin or take on being a monk or a priest, you will explore your sexuality, try to find a new love and wont put yourself in the vulnerable situation of confessing your love to your unlikely to love you back friend.

It very unproductive to love someone with the opposite sex orientation, it's like falling in love with your gay friend: love between you is probably not gonna happen, and probably you will eventually be with someone else...

The odds of making that romance true is very high on yaoi mangas, but that is not the case AT ALL in real life. If i still loved my first crush from my high school years i would live a very sad loveless life till my actual 25 years (and i'm not gay neither was he). I'm very happy and in love with my 4 year old relationship and it's not my first crush! xD And I have to say I'm very faithful to him.

Hey YaoiSanctuary, it's not being a bully it is sharing your opinion ;) But here is mine on some of your topics:

1) How do you know he sleeps with everybody else? Maybe he has genuine interest in that other guy and is trying to find new love, knowing his actual love won't be returned. Or maybe he is just trying to take care of natural and real sexual needs. It exists and is not a taboo nor promiscuity, as long as you respect yourself and your partner, and you are single and not cheating and being untruthful to your partner. It does not make you a slut.

2) Yes I agree maybe he should confess. But it is a VERY hard thing to do, specially if your friend is straight and you risk losing that friendship. Would you ever confess your love to your gay friend? Have you ever confessed to someone? I know i haven't, only when i knew there was mutual interest! And i'm not gay xD
- And even if the he stopping him in the shower implied some lust or interest from the seme, maybe the uke doesn't want to put in jeopardy his friendship or doesn't want to suffer the pain of being with a straight guy only for sex, and being dumped for some woman. The seme's interest is only lust for the moment. If it's only for sex at least with the colleague you won't be heartbroken if played. Nowhere in the manga suggests he is addicted to sex and has "excessive and uncontrollable sexual desire" as Raphael put it!! He does have natural and completely normal sexual needs, as does everyone!

4) I don't quite get what your ethically wrong is referring to? The masturbating to someone you don't love? cause every guy does it everyday with porn stars or even friends... And I think it is more disappointing to the readers who want a saint and virgin Mary out of every uke, and a pure love.

5) This one I agree with you. But you can still contract those diseases if sleeping with your loved one, right? The risk is bigger cause you stop using condoms in long term relationships, and nothing guarantees your partner is faithful.

Mio's behavior is disgusting and disrespectful towards Shino even though his feelings aren't known yet. He's been in love with Shino since high school, and sleeping around with others is just a poor excuse of dealing with his feelings. Just because the seme isn't aware of the uke's feelings, doesn't mean it's ok for the uke to be screwing everyone around the seme and especially someone he has to work with. And doing it in the company's bathroom knowing that the seme is working overtime there just shows how little he respects the person he supposedly loves. It would have been best if the uke had confessed and if he was rejected at least he got his feelings out but he chose the cowardice way.

If this yaoi were just a fap material like Zaria's yaoi, I wouldn't even spend one word to write what I wrote, but the fact is that this BL shows some deeper feelings or at least intentions in it. Even though it took a weird turn.
Yes, Mio's totally direspectful towards his friend (the one he's suppose in love with since years...), direspectful towards conventions (fucking in a workd place, btw, probl with many guys...) ; he really doesn't give a damn about his friend, conventions, and even his own person (his reputation...). What will be thinking the collegues of Shino on him (or about his precious friend) doesn't seem to cross his brain even a second.
