In chapter 32, the latest one, we get a little bit of insight about how hyungseo and seungeon’s conflict started.

I assume the author would start giving us flashbacks from seungeon’s childhood gradually leading us to why he is hated among his family. I also assume seungeon’s family would oppose him dating jiwook and maybe try to interfere in their relationship

Yes yes! I feel this will happen as well! They will do anything to not have their family reputation tarnished by a scandal if it ever comes out that their son is dating a man.
Why is no one talking about the fact that that's actually his half sister. He said that his mother killed hreself soon after he was born. And when we were first intriduced to his sister, when she scolds him, she says " be glad I find out and not mother." Which means that "mother" his sister mentions is his step mom, his fathers wife. His father probably had an affair with some woman and she gave birth to Seungeon and before she commited suicide she left little Seungeon to his fathers care. His father probably didn't know about him, and when he found out he kept him. I can imagine his wife being pissed he cheated on her but they decided to keep the child. His father probably resents him because because of him his wife find out he cheated on her. And since they run the biggest conglomerate in Korea there can be no scandal since it will ruin the reputation and reputation is everything to rich people. His wife probably resents Seungeon as well. They treated him awfuly his whole life for something thats not his fault :(.
Some of this is of course me guessing on how it might have gone down and how his dad and step mom felt. I can't wait to see more about Seungeons family and his childhood.
