The Queen and MCs mom were best friends and the Queen has had unrequited love for her. Mcs mom falls in love w the king instead and jealous she seduces the king to either keep him away from Mc Mom. It doesn't work but as one of the wives she can still close to her. The Queen hates mc for being the kings child and the proof of her moms and the kings love (and that mc resembles her first love so much). Shell eventually take down not only mc but the king also as revenge for the moms death. Queen comes to care for MC as her own when she realizes mc shouldn't be the focus of her hate.
(I know the au doesn't work that much w plot since it's implied the Queen killed the mom but )
