No i think he did tht cause he wanted to die he didnt want to live anymore so he did tht knowing he would die cause he wanted to die.the witch lady was trying to make him want to live
idk him wanting to die seems a little unnatural because there was no indication of it at all, I think that could have been developed better
It’s less of him wanting to die than a lack of a will to live.
Throughout the story, he’s always battled w the effect his being has had on other people so like if the opportunity presents itself to not exist or if he’s going to die, he doesn’t have any desire to fight to stay alive
that kinda makes sense but it lowkey also doesnt because didnt he somewhat made a resolve, or at least some kind of acceptance, to respond to qiqi’s affections? why would he want to die literally right after that tho if what you said was true, wouldnt there normally be a change of decision in that type of senario?
I mean realistically if you are that unwilling to live, it’s not that easy to find any desire to survive if the opportunity presents itself (like super bad depression without being actively suicidal)
I feel like his main goal was just to save qiqi and let him know his feelings bc of the state he left qiqi in and to not have any regrets
(Also I don’t want to spoil anything in future chapter but bb also really trusts Mai Mai)

not to sound angry but wtf??? he literally had a choice to go back to earth and talk there but he decided to stay in heaven to talk instead?? for what? dramatic effect? he knew he would disappear if he stayed over the time limit, is making a fcking stupid choice supposed to be a tearjerker moment? huh?? now his soul is gone and qiqi is experiencing unnecessary distress
