Maxi started learning healing magic after finding out she had an affinity for magic, and has put herself into dangerous situations. This has made Riftan very angry and he doesn't want her practicing magic, and is wayyyyy too overprotective. To the point where Maxi feels suffocated, trapped, and useless in the castle. Riftan has good intentions but its really straining their relationship. I think Im like 6 chappies behind on the updates but thats where I left off, tons of angst and much more to come (I can tell you if you want more spoilers on what happens after)

after that happens Maxi gets pregnant but she loses the baby. THis causes a huge misunderstanding, she thinks hes mad cause she lost the baby, and he thinks she didnt want to have his child. So Maxi gets picked up by her Father while RIftan is away, and then Riftan walks in on her father abusing her. He beat the shit outta her father. Then her and Riftan have a heart to heart where she tells him everything and they both cry together. Im not too sure what happens after this cause this is all coming from spoilers I read, but Maxi will go off to study magic. The story is still ongoing so I dont know much else
