Um... Title doesn't exactly match-up here, does it? Nine-month scandal implied that the ending would come after the baby was born. Instead, they don't even mention the PREGNANCY until AFTER the wedding on the very last page. Harlequin needs to start paying more attention to how they title things. Just read one that had Christmas in the title and I don't think it was even WINTER in the story.... DEFINTITELY wasn't anywhere near Christmas. Nor was Christmas even MENTIONED. Go figure.
And the mom... GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRR....... Oh how I want to smack her! She took her daughter away because she wanted to "TAKE WHAT WAS MINE. WHAT I WAS OWED." Your daughter is NOT AN OBJECT!!!!! If she had said, she couldn't bare parting with both her daughters, and wanted at least ONE by her side, and had actually been a loving mom, I could have forgiven her actions. Instead, she not only took one of her daughters, lying about her dying, but she couldn't even be bothered to be a proper, loving mother to her and simply acted cold. WTF WAS THE POINT IN TAKING HER THEN?!? No. She just wanted to get one over on her husband because she didn't like being in an arranged marriage, and she ended up making BOTH the girls suffer for it as well! The only silver lining to this is that it allowed both girls to meet the loves of their lives (and while the sister's love interest has some less than stellar issues, he isn't the worst guy I have seen in Harlequin, and the ML here ended up being a lot more decent than he first appeared), despite how they initially came off. At least the King/dad was overjoyed to see FL, and find out she was alive and let both girls do what they wanted in the end. But mom? Drop her off a cliff please.
