On to the spoilers…
I’ve read everything there and yes there is a war that actually breaks out in like the next chapter or so and it is such a huge thing that the duke ends up having to go to the front lines which is super sad cause the wedding was already put off. (Side note the prince doesn’t start the war as far as we know but there’s not a lot of info on that tbh)
Anyways in a super romantic twist Ripley and the Duke hold a shot gun ceremony by themselves that’s actually super sweet and beautiful, I cried a little when I read it, all so they can be married before he goes to his possible death and he promises to return and it’s a very bittersweet goodbye for our love birds.
After this he goes to front lines and ripley is left behind and moves into his mansion and takes over as duchess and takes over managing the estate while exchanging letters with the duke. He doesn’t actually have a lot of screen time once he leaves which super sucks.
In the meantime she does strike a supply deal with the prince for the ointment and even though he seems totally disinterested in her in this chapter by 47 he is 100% into her but girly is oblivious per usual. Funnily enough she shared her bomb shot secret recipe with him thinking that he’s asking for the recipe when he actually seemed to be trying to confess to her. Home girl is such a peanut but I love her anyways.
Anyways prince is super sus in the next couple chapters but other than the main stuff above nothing much else happens.
