A personal opinion
As someone who read the novel, I can say that the hunting competition arc is my favorite for the romance side of this story(▰˘◡˘▰)
ARGHH IKR IT WAS SO CUTE!!! and the chase everything argh it felt more real emotionally too unlike how its with ecklis since she just acts for survivalヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
Ecklis betrayed her bc he wants her attention, he was being manipulated. Before that penelope is already close with the crown prince and she ends up with the crown prince

Same here, read the novel and I was so upset. Ecklis really deserved better
