That’s still weird asf. Waiting for someone to be legal is gross. When you turn 18 you don’t automatically become an adult mentally

nah thats still not right. if the other one had been just a few years older then i’d get it but he’s too damn old to get with a teen

You’re supposed to not date him AT ALL. Find someone else instead of pinning over a 17 year old turning 18. He can wait if he wants that’s weird too. Waiting for someone to be legal is weird and going after a 17 year old while you’re 30 is also weird. Point blank period

I’d be ok with it if he was at least 19 or 20 because I’ve seen relationships like that where they are both mentally and physically adults. I’m just saying it’s weird to go after someone barely an adult and barely experienced life yet

I think that the topic of whether people should be allowed to be in a relationship and have sex shouldn’t be based solely on the age difference between them. For example, my younger sister had a friend who went and had sex on the day of her 16th birthday with her boyfriend who was the same age as her (legal age in the UK is 16, which is way too low in my opinion but whatever). Now I know that’s not pedophilia and therefore may sound unrelated, but I believe that what she did was gross and wrong because she was a child. So do I think that the 17 year old in this story should go and have sex with the 30 something year old? It depends. Like is he just turned 17, is he about to turn 18? If they wait till he’s older and actually develop a relationship with each other then ok.
For me rather that the age difference, the bigger issue is the “power” difference, since the older dude acts like the younger one is his property and is not treating him very well.
So if they actually started “dating” and both fell in love then I don’t think there would be a problem with due to their age difference, because they would be in a more respectful (of each other) relationship.

Well it’s still one year too early.... is it so hard to understand.....? a minor is a minor and in my opinion a grown up adult should know better....

I’m confused now, they had sex already? I was under the impression that they haven’t had sex yet. Do we know whether he just turned 17 or is about to turn 18? I don’t know whether that was mentioned. (Legal age of consent in the UK is 16 (too low in my opinion but it is what it is)).

ykw i actually really like what you said about the power difference, but i still think its weird that 30+ yo is trying to fuck around with a teen, and this is coming from someone that has been in relationships with 40+ yo men while i was still in high school. even if they did wait till he was an adult, that’d be considered grooming. big age gaps arent such an issue so much as the fact that they met and got into a relationship while he is still a minor. idk what else to say other than too many bl writers feel the need to always make relationships sketch af when they could easily avoid it by adding/subtracting a few years from their age

Oh i didn’t read it since it seems to have pedo content... idk I mean even if they are going to turn 18 being in a relationship with someone who is 30 is weird too me cause even at 18 aren’t you still a teen? and it is not about the age gap don’t get me wrong like if the uke was 20 and the sème 40 I wouldn’t care at all tbh

I do agree with that I don’t understand why the author didn’t make the 17 year old well older. I mentioned this in a separate comment but I think the author may have just googled age of consent worldwide and got 17 or something? I didn’t think about the grooming thing because English is not my first language and I’ve never come across the word before (I googled it and can now see where you’re coming from on that note)
