Exactly! I do understand how hard it must be for the king to live with that kind of trauma, but the original owner hadn't wronged him, and ended up dying without even knowing why she was hated this much. Her behavior toward the princess was wrong as hell, for sure, but I didn't see the king doing anything to help the child either. Poor child she was a victim here as well, she has done nothing wrong but again is ignored by her only family meaning his father, and abused by someone who's mentaluty has been wrecked agian by the wrong behavior of the so called father
In the end, after all these years, neither the king nor anyone around him has tried to solve the issue! Like at least seeking therapy over a long period of time. His behavior could've changed so much so for the better

Because just like Abigail, the king is brought up to show no weaknesses and whether we like it or not, in their patriarchal society and on top of that, he's a king, with no professional help available, people will likely turn the blind eye. Both have their faults and flaws, yes, but you really can't apply our common sense to theirs when they live in an entire different era where trauma and mental illness are frowned upon.

I get you. My point wasn’t really to criticize the story or how things are playing out, just more of a different perspective and just speaking out for the original character. I think people tend to forget those who have trauma ( again not fault of their own ) could unintentionally be the source of other people trauma. Then the vicious cycle continues. I relate to the original one because I to have been on the blunt end of someone’s unresolved trauma and it’s not a good nor peasant feeling.

I also get your point but people who read this story get that it's hard for that cycle to stop especially when they're in a situation like this were there is no one to turn to and elitism and classism is very relevant in this story. I don't think some of the readers are that daft to not understand how trauma works and how it affects other people.
Sigh, I said this before and I’ll say it again. The more I read and I see his reaction ( yes I know it’s because of the trauma ) towards the mc I feel bad for the original body owner. No one ever told her about his trauma , not him, the advisor or anyone. They all turned a blind eye to his behavior towards her, hell even some participated in rumors about her. Judge her etc. No sympathy was ever showed for the young miss who was thrust into a marriage to a man with a child and on top of that embarrassed her at any given moment as a result of his trauma ( not saying this his fault at all ) without ever explaining himself EVER. Adding on to the pressure to produce a heir from her family bc that’s a woman’s job back then. Now I’m not excusing her behavior towards blance bc that’s just damn wrong. But eventually dealing with the blunt end of the kings trauma caused the old queen to have her own too. It just so happen she took it out on the child sadly.
