His mother is a b*tch honestly, she’s all like “oh blache is so cute” and then proceeds to tells her that she needs to be in an arrangement marriage bc she can’t be the heir of the kingdom.
Also also I love Abigail for
1) telling him that was fucked up abuse 2) it isn't his fault he is like this
3) his experience and pain isn't laughable or insignificant
4)Telling his that you don't have to live like others. That there are different types of families and that they could be a family without being a couple.
What I'm trying to say is Abigail is the best.

For those who don’t know:
He became king at 14 and Miriam (the late queen) forced him to have a child with her the moment he stepped in the throne. She was in her late 20s while and he was a CHILD.
Chapter 24:
Right after the princess enters the king office she tells him that he needed to say sorry to Abigail. He said he would and a little after that they met and starts to tell her the reason why he was afraid of woman.
he tells the queen that he was 15 when Blair was born and didn’t know exactly what to do (HE WAS A CHILD AFTER ALL AAAAAH THIS MAKES ME SO MAD) and he tells her a little bit of how Miriam and his own mother said that the duty of a king was to have a child.
Abigail understand the situation and start crying saying that it wasn’t his fault that he barely managed to dance with her and she also said that she wasn’t going to ask any more questions about it if he wasn’t comfortable.
Then Abigail reflects about her past actions and remember how agitated he was when she invaded his room and feels even worse. ╥﹏╥
edit: I should add that it’s not like his trauma will suddenly be cured after he tells her. They start by exchanging a little bit of contact, they held hands while sleeping and things like to make him a little bit more comfortable with Abigail.
Chapter 69:
This is just an extra about his trauma but when Blanche was walking around the castle she saw a painting about the king and the late queen and she was startled. She describes the painting as “My father looked just a little bit older than me, skinny and very pale, and the woman besides him... my mother age... is as she is the age Abigail and my father are today.
