It’s the first time he sees him react so emotionally though, so he’s encouraged by that, which is a good thing because we don’t want him to give up on pursuing him. What the ML understands by seeing him cry over it is that he’s not indifferent to him at all. It’s easy to think someone’s fine if you don’t see them have an actual reaction to your words.
Yep, that means he still feels something and not just hatred. He still have to be more thoughtfull of what he says to him and the way he's going to pursue him, but nobody's perfect, and there isn't a single good way to do it, btw.
