O think It's kind of both. I think the author went a little bit too far, and ended up making the prince dumb and flat. But im glad they decided to not make it that bad. I wish to see the redeemed prince after his long trip. I hope he'll be a better developed and interesting character then.
Yknow I used to think the author was nerfing the ending by suddenly antagonising the prince just to make the main couple shine even more, but if this turns into a very minor redemption arc for the prince, maybe not so bad. Like all this jealousy and trashy behaviour was an accumulation of all his issues and he got a wake up call from his failed attempt to slander the fl. idk, just my opinion.
