I don't see that guiltiness in this chapter rather it's him worrying about his trauma to the point he doesn't want to meet her for a while. He even put her in a dire situation and added fuel to the fire of rumors.
Ugh i wanna slap this dude! At least apologize for your shitty behavior! I don't care if you have trauma or not but you don't need to slap her hand badly and then fuck out of the situation...
