I do recall a magical bed that helps increase fertility, so maybe that counteract her infertility. Plus, it wasn't like confirmed, confirmed if they were really infertile. The two of them ate biscuits, that was prepared by the previous empress for the concubines. It was a mistake as those biscuits will cause infertility. But they were very young, so I don't know if it really affected them.
Also, Henley has more stamina and was very "active". He put in more effort. So that played a huge part, cause I get the feeling Navier and her ex weren't that active. Probably because he felt it wouldn't work, or he just bad at it..lol ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
