I think he pretty sure he knows like from the way maxi acts to things and her low stamina like it is kinda ovb reason why he spoils her a lot (i want that too TT_TT)

He doesn't know yet, he thinks she's a loved daughter that's why he wants to spoil her with everything. Cuz he doesn't want her to feel uncomfortable living with him. Maxi was told by her dad to not tell riftan about her family, and since maxi really thinks her dad is right about everything (including about her being worthless and an embarrassment), she never told riftan about it. Which is just sad :'(
