Yup severe alcoholics like him can die from just abruptly quitting, unfortunately sometimes if they have been long term alcoholics they can't every 100% quit cause their body can't handle it.

Woah thats not a good way to overcome alcohol addiction. He should have not ubruptly stopped the intake instead he should taper his alcohol intake. No wonder his having severe withdrawals
