I forgive Jin because I think he had a sad childhood, but clearly the reason Rio does not "love" Takamizawa is because he's the only one who tries to give him a real education! Even Keiichi is not exactly a real "gentleman" to me...
For my own tastes "cute" is on the inside not the outside. I don't care how fluffy his ears are or how long his tail is he's every spoiled little rich brat that when he doesn't get his way he just cries and everyone falls all over themselves to give him exactly what he wants.
