Okay I'm now more confused.. after chapter 37, nothing makes sense
From what I could understand (it's been a while since I've read it), Shinobu is Karen and Kunimitsu's son, Makio's father. So shinobu is Makio's half-brother, Manami's half-brother/uncle(Makio and Karen's cat son), Kunimasa and Yonekuni uncle instead of half-brother. I suppose Karen's pregnancy with Shinobu was a difficult one since Kunimitsu is an elite among heavy seeds (he influenced Karen at some point) and Shinobu was born as an incomplete heavy seed, almost killing Karen.
Inukai seem to be only a servant to Karen and Makio I think. I have to read it again to be sure.

I'm really confused.. isn't Shinobu Karen and Makio's son? So why is he's ordered by a 'seemingly different father' to be a teacher for that lion-marman guy.. and what's that scene where he recalls his father and dying mother where Makio is shown to be his sister...
Also who's Inukai to Karen? Her son from another man? Or her relative?
The family tree is so confusing in this manga..
