I hate Helena, don’t get me wrong, but she’s a fallen aristocrat whose mother wants to use her beauty to help her family rise back to power. In addition, if the crown PRINCE is courting you, what are you supposed to do? Reject his advances? She doesn’t have the financial power or societal power to reject him unfortunately. We see what happens when the prince (fucking asshole) and emperor don’t get their way later on. That’s why I really enjoy the end of the novel. Fingers crossed the manhwa makes it as satisfying as the novel
I don't get it? why does Helena subject herself to all of this headache? she has no obligation to stay besides the empress and her asshole of a son.. she can literally travel far far away, even move to another country, she's pretty and young! she can restart her life wherever she likes. or maybe tell the crown prince flat out that he's doing more damage then anything? like the least thing he could've done if he truly loved Helena is cancel his engagement with Eris and take the responsibility of the consequences of that decision... Everyone is so fickle and a coward! they hate confrontation & taking responsibility, all the characters are so hateful! even the father who couldn't stand up for his daughter being humiliated and treated like shit by her fiance... No wonder Eris wants to go back so bad even when her modern world has a lot of issues itself and is not perfect by any means... At least she could still find people with a backbone in there who somewhat care for her.
