Well, as to why it was brought on to mangago. I can only guess that tehy did so because they're aware there's an audience and they just wanted to spread the info. We don't know if they had any motifs other than to spread awareness but I think it's like "hey guys, found something related to this yaoi that I think is a bit concerning. Not that we can do anything about it so do what you may with this information." Personally I think it's alright because some people are really sensitive to this stuff and can't stand it, If some supporters know about this incident and decide to not to support anymore, meh?
Some might take issue with shotacon and problematic fiction in general but take it from someone who doesn’t whatsoever - the artist (not author) drew IRL people in those postures. It is disgusting and people have all the rights to call her out on it because it stops being a matter of fiction alone. Beside that, she sent death threats to the translators first even though they made a generous donation to her so I wouldn’t call the artist a saint either when it comes to harassment. I don’t plan on supporting her legally, nor is the story originally theirs so I couldn’t care less at the end of the day but I wouldn’t call people hypocrites on this matter.
