Even if a word exists in any language doesnt mean you should use it, its demeaning and dehumanizing please and I mean this in the most respect way educate your self or dont speak on topics you dont know about or cant relate to you. And you especially cant say what's right or wrong if your not a poc.
Excuse me? I agree that the n word should not be use in whatever context but i disagree w/ your point "even if the word exists in any language doesn't mean u should use it"..what do you mean by that?? Should i change my language just coz it shares a same word w/ other language?? No!! By saying that u actually disrespect the language & other ppl's culture. Please don't go around educating ppl about language as if english is the only language in the world..idk, maybe there's another n word out there that doesn't necessarily mean the one used to insult black ppl
& about that n word used in this manhwa, u sure it's not the translator that put it there instead of the author?
The n word is an american term not that I care for the American language as I speak other languages.the n word does not share a name with any other word. Like if I were speaking spanish I word still say the n word as the n word I wouldn't say negro. Although there are variants like neger and neger which mean black or words that stem from the Latin word Niger. In society it is a well known fact that any use of the actual n-word by non black people is racist doesnt matter if your not saying it in a racist way as it was used to categorize and dehumanize slave and to separate them as non humans. It was pri.arily used in the south because they didnt want to used the better alternative which was colored at the time.i never asked you to change your language i dont see why it's hard to not say a word especially if it has a terrible history. You dont seem to get the fact that the n word can only be said in english.
I have no idea who put the word there that's why I asked the person who first commented
preach! the n word can only be said in english no ones asking you to change your language. i think you misunderstood what they were saying. there are words that sound similar and even look similar. but the way it’s used has to be within you speaking that language. but if you try to use that same word on it’s own its wrong and will be seen as you making a mockery of that word and making it seem like your trying to use it in the context of how it’s used in english. like this manwha for example he just used it in a random english sentence and it doesn’t even make sense. plus i doubt the translator would translate that word into the nword just because it looks/sounds similar to it. it was purposely put in there so it’s clearly fucked up at the end of the day.
That's why i said that in this manhwa context, yes it's wrong to use the n word.
But in term of language, the n word is usually used in america & it's neighbouring country (especially english speaking country). So there might be other n word that DOES NOT mean to insult black ppl in another language. U know there's hundreds of languages in the world, the one that most ppl know & the one that barely anyone knows. & yes it might not spelled the same but maybe pronounce/sound similar. The point is, i'm saying that if a language has the n word (no matter what if it's only a similarity), it DOES NOT mean that "racist term". If i were to say that word w/o context in my country, nobody would even know what i mean. Only those that can speak english & familiar w/ the social media might know.
What I’m saying is that there is no other language in which people have the word nigga. There is none because it is only an English/ American word. I had said that I understand that some countries and language have words with similar pronunciation and spelling but is not the word nigga. What country are you from.
Yeah, the word "nigga" is an american (idrk but they use it). & that one is the bad word. But "niga" (in korean writing) means you. Yeah some/in drama, they pronounce it as "naega" but in writing form it's "niga" (if i'm not mistaken?). They don't really use "naega" irl coz it can be confuse/sound similar to "ne-ga". & this is what i'm trying to say when i 1st reply to this comment section. Gotto look it up my old note for this. Oh & i'm from malaysia
If you know it's a bad word why would you spell it out? All you're doing is digging yourself a huge hole rn. In Korean writing it is written "Naega" which means you. Yes it does sound similar to the n word but it is the context of the sentence that is important. The sentence in this weebtoon says "get ur n- out here." This does not make sense to add the Korean word for you, which is "naega." Do you get it know? This other person was trying to kindly educate you but you're still not getting it. If you are not black, you should not be using, saying, spelling, etc. The n- word out. Just because you think it's "American Slang" does not mean it actually is and if you ever said that to someone here you would get ur shit rocked.
U know what? Let's just get on w/ our lives. This "discussion" ain't going anywhere w/ closed minded ppl. If just spelling the word for explanation purposes already trigger you, then i don't think we should continue. It's not like i'm referring to that taboo word to you or anyone in your race. I didn't even know you're black. Besides, this ain't got no merits anyway.
okay i was done with this whole thing from my last reply but like this reply was not it. if anyone is closed minded it is entirely you. just from you saying “if spelling the word triggers you” shows said closed mindedness. we would have gotten the EXACT same understanding of what word you meant if you spelled it as nword. trust me we KNOW how it’s spelt so you did not need to spell it out. the whole point of this conversation is that we don’t want anyone who is not black to use/speak/or even spell that word. it’s honestly just a matter of respect for black people. it’s not just a word. it has ties to the trauma and hatred of black people. therefore yes it’s triggering to some especially coming from those who are not black. it’s just respect man. you using that word in any shape of form is a lack of respect for us and i think we all as humans get very upset when we are shown a lack of respect.
on chapter 3 but did they really have to use the n word? wtf man
