Bro, I loved the theory. I was also suspecting that Minamato could like Akane (boy) bc of what you said, especially the kanji thing. He's also had way more interaction with Akane (boy) and enjoys teasing him, so that makes a lot more sense to me than Aoi. Either way, I think that only angst awaits us lol.

soooo everyone is saying that maybe the Akane (boy) is the one that Minamoto likes so, I was thinking that there is a bit of chance of that happening IF you interpret different scenes and the names don't make it easier (Lol).
1. - At first, the first moment that we know of Minamoto liking someone is in the first episode. when he says that there is a ''girl'' that he always liked. in Japanese, he uses the kanji 子 ''ko'' which means ''kid'' ''little boy'' ''girl'' etc. which means that is genderless... so if I put it in context it means someone that is below him and is also used more with girls than boys. But, putting in the other way, a person that likes another and they are the same genders, and he is saying that to someone that is not that close. It would make sense that he would NOT AT ALL say just:''sorry I like a dude for a while and I like no bitches so sorry''. That doesn't make any sense either.
2. - In his history Minamoto is the most powerful exorcist currently, and later we know that he spent his youth fighting day and night. He doesn't even know many friends and is studying since he is the student N°1 in the whole school. his schedule is more than full since he is a child and being president to the point of having an assistant tell us that he is a busy guy. Now, how does he know about Aoi?, well if I remember well (i will upload this part) he knows her by a festival or something, and if it's not that, he knows her by Akane-Kun (boy).
3. - There is a specific part that bothers me. Minamoto makes a contest of the one who gets the higher score wins and makes what the other tells him. Akane boy says ''FUCK NO'' and he plays with his nerves and says ''I will date that cute girl, WHAT WAS HIS NAME? OH YEAH, THAT GIRL''. It looked (my opinion) that he was touching what hurt to get what he wanted, but that makes me think, ''if I like someone, and it means a lot since I don't have anything else. WHY WOULD I PLAY GAMES WITH IT''. I mean is not normal, he talked like she was nothing and made the understatement that he can date her whenever he wants. mmmm then he gets the higher score but asks something really sweet and (that confusing motherfucker), he gets really mad that he brags about it. If you think the Akane boy way, it looked like he was mad that he achieved success for Aoi and not for HIM, he was the one that mattered, not Aoi girl. Also, he asked something really painful to the one that he thinks is important. if you think the Aoi girl way, he was getting mad because he was a brat and just wanted to bitch about that. in the end, Aoi girl gets more points than him AND ALSO brags about it making Minamoto surprised (Aoi was competing for Akane boy and Minamoto was competing for........Akane boy?? )
