I know, that's why I said the author was doing a good job. It's realistic, I've met many kids like this. Buuuut....doesn't make it less annoying.
This is actually getting annoying. The kid just really won't listen or even consider what anyone else is trying to tell him, but then expects others to listen to him and understand what he wants. I think its good that the author is trying to portray the pit falls of this kid's stubbornness... but its really annoying. He doesn't realize that without a high school education, most people don't look at you as a real adult even when you actually are one.
