In my experience stories that have "seke/switch" character are not only more realistic but have a better writting. The thing is that 90% of stories who use the uke/seme rol have a very very defined treats in their characters so in the end all of these characters feel exactly the same with different designs. Like the whole bottom who always cries during sex or the very aggressive top who almost always results in rape or something like this, in these stories even tho the "dominant" is the uke aparently i also feel a little cliche. ALso it seems that for a gay couple to exist in a BL one must be skinny/tiny and the other one had to be big and buff lol (with the category bara being the exception tho) so yeah. To give a great example of a storie that 1 has a "seke/switch" cuople, the character desings in the couple are very destintive and different and has the best writting ever in a bl is "Dark heaven" by Juns. After reading that story not a single bl afterwars feels like its a nice one. I'm always mostly just watching the smut part bc sometimes the wrting is painfull like the "i touch your nipple or ass over your clothe and you are already crying in the floor and begging to be fked" lol
