Yes, that makes even more sense. But I feel like we wouldn’t really know if he enjoys it or not since he pretty much doesn’t let us (audience) know what he enjoys. He seems to scowl at pretty much everything.

Yes, exactly. Like he can see people, more than what others see. Lots of people may find the teacher boring but Yuri sees more hence why he wants to be around him.
