ugh

Other comments here are just shallow and clearly narrow minded readers. The ESSENCE of the STORY from the AUTHOR was that these two were fated to be together. Its a reincarnation bl! I understand rape wasn't necessary but in a way the author was trying to show that Hyung did whatever it takes to get ahold of hosik in this lifetime so it wouldn't be too late.

In the fictional world we don't normalize that rape is OKAY, we normalize that it is REAL. Even in movies, we can see that as a fact. So why are u trying to make people feel bad reading this by saying "you're disgusting, rape apologists, etc.". Bruh you sound stupid, do you think every story must always have a happy beginning or a happy ending? Fiction is based off reality, it is an ugly world and the authors are just trying to incorporate that in their stories. Rape is not okay but it is a part of reality we need to accept and educate people. So careful what you say next time

I don't think in real life most people raped marry their rapists later.

Anyway I thought that the author tried to show that it wasn't rape in the end, but Hosik was so drunk that he couldn't remember.

I meant it in general that fiction is based on reality. You're describing a specific situation. I didn't say that raped victims marrying their rapists is a common occurrence. Authors are called creative for a reason: they make up their own situations based on real-life events.

Yes but no. They shape a new reality in their stories. And then these stories shape a new reality in the readers' minds.

Most stories in yaoi portrait very unhealthy relationships in which one of them is possesive, abusive, jealous and a lot of other terrible things, and the other one is ignored when he says no.

As you say this is based on real relationships, there are a lot of couples like that, but in yaoi it is portrayed as something positive that makes them happy, when in reality those kind of relationships make both parties very unhappy.

When people read time after time the same kind of relationship, it carves the same feling in their minds, and it will very likely make them seek the same kind of relationship. Later in life they will be unhappy with all their relationships, but will be unable to understand why, because nobody ever teaches them how healthy relationships are, and they will most likely say things like they are unlucky or that all men/women are awful.

That is why the media is so dangerous, because it shapes reality, from manga to your local news. In fact don't get me started with news...

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I agree. The media is indeed destructive and distorts reality. However, I believe that entirely depends on a person. I enjoy reading books, manga, and yaois to escape reality sometimes. I suffer from depression and anxiety, and this fictional world provides me with some serenity and peace.

However, it does not blind me from my reality. You clearly understand how the media and news shape reality and our minds. That means you are not being manipulated by its depictions of what a 'good life' or a 'healthy relationship' is.

I've read so many of these stories for years, yet I never look for such 'positivity' or their depictions of a healthy relationship in mine. Trust me, I've had my fair share of relationships, but I never forget who I truly am, or expect anything when I enter one.

When it doesn't end up well, I do not say I'm unlucky or say men/women are awful. In fact, I am grateful to have undergone such experience in order for me to grow and understand REALITY. That's because I'm also aware, and I know how to draw a line between my reality and my comfort world, which is this one. So don't assume it is the case for everyone.

Anyways, this is a bit far-fetched from the comment I've given. I only intended to make other readers understand how Hosik's story was written by the author. And addressing that rape wasn't normalized here but only incorporated by the author from real-life events because of his creativity. And of course, we don't want that to happen to the people or the readers. Its simply a lovely story that I hope everyone can enjoy without making hostile comments :)
