I am very confused... is this still supposed to be set in the 1500s??? Mahinhin is the only survivor of that cannibalistic tribe (?) the others either died or turned into bakulaw... She falls in love with Spaniard (?) but births a bakulaw either because she ate the Spaniards too during her youth before being adopted, a bakulaw annointed (slobbered??? maybe even slept with her idk) her, or because a Spaniard + Indio = bakulaw... the bakulaw child escaped and maybe years (?) later shes garrotte-d because shes said to birth a bakulaw when in fact she was raped by a friar (probs a diff spaniard idk) now we see her daughter (?) being approached by bakulaws one is a grown half (?) sibling bakulaw who escaped before... and the little sacristan boy is apparently a previous god worshiped before the spaniards came who wants to protect Mahinhin's not-bakulaw child... so... am i getting this right???
