It was said in the novel that the duke have never experience "father's love" so maybe that's the reason why he doesn't know how act with damien and just treated him like how he treat his people. And also, even with lucia he's sometimes having a hard time expressing his emotions properly. Maybe because it is new to him, i guess
No I agree with you 100%! his behavior totally makes sense with his background, also fits with his disgust about the house’s incest in general. he just doesn’t even try to access his emotions or be better than other people in his family, which is what’s disappointing to me if that makes sense? Like him making mistakes would be totally forgivable but he doesn’t even create situations where he could make a mistake, he’s like bye boy lemme forget you exist
Ok I get it we all love cold MLs and Taran isn’t even Damien’s real dad but shoot… he couldn’t be a *little* nicer to a literal *child* who’s ostracized and has no one else in the world? Damien’s arrival has been um not good for my opinion of Taran as a character
