    Yeah, it confused me and also why would the Translator do that, as if whitewashing Korean characters.

    Sorry for this late reply but for most official translations, publishers try to localize the translation so they usually change the names that fits the language they're translating to. In this case it's english so that's why it's like that. Their intention isn't whitewashing ^^;

    I could understand if this was common but it isn't though? Read hundreds on mangas/manhwas and this is the first or 2nd time I saw it happen.

    Also I could understand if they did it since the beginning of the manga but to change mid way was for me questionable

    It's because here in managago it's usually unofficial translations so they keep the local names and everything else. I've read a lot of comics from Webtoon, Webcomics, and etc and they usually localize the names and idioms*.

    The first part were unofficial translations, then official ones replaced them midway in the story. This happens in this site sometimes.

    *Instead of keeping the idioms in, they substitute it with ones that is understandable to english speakers cause it doesn't makes sense when directly translated.

    Oh yea, tbf this was posted around the time mangago was on lockdown w their threads

    Also to answer ur question, that's true but it's just the standard for some manga/manhwa publishers to localize everything, not really something that's controlled by public opinion :/
