okay, just read this chapter and I finally can see why you (manganiME) left the message you did. someone needs to kick that oppa's ass. like seriously, threatening to hurt someone who doesn't even have aggressive body language, and who sincerely looks confused about what he's saying...that's bs. if I were her, not only would I have hit him with my bag, and trust me my back for school is full of textbooks so if I hit someone there will be blood, I would've kicked him sooooo hard in his nuts. like wtf.
hmm, i wonder why he doesn't have a criminal record NOW. cause remember in the first chapter he tried to take Mirae to a hotel with most likely lewd intentions, WHILE mind you Mirae was "seemingly drunk".
I mean Korea is not really the greatest in regards to it's policies regarding rape. At least, not from what I've seen and read, so far.
But, where I'm from you need consent from a sober person. and while rape may be questioned over there...
I think-though there may be some questions and judgments for the female-there would be an issue or at least settlement in the case of assault and battery. Moreover, the guy has a rep.
many of the older girls at the freshman seminar, talked about how he has a tendency to target freshmen girls. and you cannot tell me in all the time that he has spent there that he did not get "crazy" with some of those girls.
ANd on top of that there was that incident in the cafe where he tried to beat up the silver haired guy. mind you the silver haired guy did not look as aggressive or volatile as him. so if having witnesses, to his mental instability does not get him jailed, at least remove him from the school...
but, then again, I don't know korea's laws...so...
that's what I was implying. I mean where I come from, when a girl seems to have a reputation, or drinks, and it leads to 1. sleeping with someone without thinking about the consequences or 2. pass out and get raped-in all three situations-no one will immediately question the other party who takes advantage. and moreover, victimize the girl.
ok, but as I said-and I apologize for my tone I'm not trying to be condescending-girls and especially cultures that like Confucianism or favor filial piety-tend to covet a girl's innocence. with all do respect, I feel like Korea is slowly-like other cultures in the west-portraying females in a better light. but, back to what I was saying, yeah normally I "FEEL" as though they'd take the guy's side, unless he comes off as nuts or from a disreputable background.
But, I feel all cultures are like that, or at least most. I should not generalize.
again, I'm sorry if I was rude, manganiME. I just joined this site and I've been meeting plenty of interesting people, like yourself. I have a tendency to re-iterate or over explain, or just get excited and offend people. I truly hope that I haven't done that, as I enjoy going back and forth with people here...
p.s. if you're not mad, yeah he is a creep and he has certainly demonstrated his instability in public pretty well.
I'm not mad. :D I agree with you, actually. Mirae is so naive that she's practically brain-dead. And I know the mangas/manhwas like to show these soooooo innocent, so unmalicious, so lacking in cunning girl as the heroine. But I find it hard to believe that you suffer through so much with evil bullies and don't learn something of their manipulative ways. I mean, I know we're meant to think she's never had guys come on to her or have people be nice to her, so she's STARVING forthatsort of attention and friendship. Still, I want her to grow a backbone and not depend on someone saving her.
I get tired of the heroines that need saving all the time.
oh, good...idk, i usually stay away too from such heroines. like that depicted in diabolik or amnesia and I know those are based on otome games? Idk how to spell. but, there's something about mirae that I adore, and just makes me want to jump right in and hug her and shield her.
I mean this manga is similar in concept to helter skelter. but differs drastically in that the protagonist in that manga is an antagonist...or maybe even miunohri swan, where yeah the protagonist is trying to get revenge against her bully, but falls for the softer side.
in no way, am I trying to condone mr. pyscho-path...but, still I'm agreeing with you she should've learned from her past. BUT, i want to give her some credit-when she was shoved in the bathroom, I was waiting for mr. silver haired guy to come in and save her, cause that's how these things go. but, he didn't she actively defended her self, and fled.
I think there is hoep for her yet...I'm going to continue though and see if she does more than hitr someone with her bag...maybe kick them where the sun don't shine or confront soonah.:D
I'm just saying yeah she don't gotta be evil like the girl in helter skelter, nor does she have to be spiteful...and I really hope silver-haired guy is like ikuto from shugo chara that would be awesome
I don't know I used to be that way...not as gullible as her, but starved for love. it's funny even though you're told to grow up numerous times, ya can't or don't want to. so you can end up being the damsel, the manipulator or the old spinster waiting on a thread to catch someone... ya know. but, yeah...Mirae sure is something
okay, I don't want to be settled yet as this manhwa can change. But, my emotions are at boiling point. so, I'm going to vent and apologize.
first off, that oppa with the brownish hair-calling another human being cheap because they got plastic surgery. totally deserved to be tripped-nay he deserves to be humiliated and have his butt whooped in the most horrid way. you cannot decide someone's worth by appearance...
then there's soonah, pardon my spelling. she is coming off as a manipulative B. and she has to be stupid herself if she thinks the silver-haired guy will fall for it "immediately". I say that cause normally, plots like these are underhanded when it comes with messing with sincere people. but, seriously, to just get rid of your competition, than to dump your target-that's right target because that brown haired oppa does not act like a good person-for someone who was acting chivalrous. damn..
that silver-haired guy already pointed out during the freshmen seminar that she was being manipulated...I hope she's ready for trouble...
mirae I love her. but, damn how could you be so stupid. I get it she's a naive character. But, just question. be like I thought since you were clingy with oppa you might've been interested. and he confessed to you...what happened. like damn...god, I wish mirae had a real friend, or could just seperate herself from people for a while.
but, I get it she's vulnerable. I've been there a couple of times. it hurts. but, geese...
