Jk, I’m finished w season 2 and, spoiler alert, hot brother is a total misdirect. What happened this short summer was Nan Nan acting on his feelings for Xin Yang, fucking his whole life up to be with him, and unloading it all on Xin Yang’s brother. That’s the real reason Nan Nan is so awkward around the brother in the present timeline. The brother actually supports them but likes fucking around with Xin Yang bc Xin Yang has always been a possessive brat since he was little so he find it funny. Xin Yang does get insanely jealous and asks brother dearest to cut off all contact with Nan Nan by the end of the side stories of season 2 but Nan Nan is sort of oblivious to all this for the most part since he’s so in love it doesn’t really register. So rest easy. It’s going to get real romantic.
