Lol it's just kinda surprising there are still arranged marriages in the Philippines

Lol my fiancé is from malaysia (my father friend son) ugh that’s why I’m still dreaming for happy family with the someone i love (not someone in paper just for damn work)

Most of the asian countries do arrange marriage duh. And in my country love marriage is considered tobe a bad thing. 90% are arrange marriage here

THIS IS WHAT I HATE THE MOST my parents are always nagging me about arranged marriages but i just ignore them since i wanna live my life as i want to

My parents dont even let me talk to a guy. And they are so strict that i have to always tell where im going and when i'll be. That's why i never got a chance to hang out with guy.how am i even supposed to have a love marriage when im even restricted to talk to a guy. Man i really hate this but what to do y'know :(

As an asian 15 year old asian male, I have to agree that asian parents are a bit too strict with interaction with opposite sexes.

I have an elder sister who will turn 18 this year, and she has already experienced having a stalker. It scared the shit out of me when she ignorantly went into his car, but thankfully she was safe and didn't suffer any injury mentally or physically.

Witnessing my sister being dumb to others intentions might have made me a bit overprotective, but that was also counterproductive in a sense since she began keeping secrets from me. I don't even know whether she dated anybody in secret because her friend circle is a complete mystery to me.

But I will definitely not let her get married against her will. (If that day ever came), my parents also never mentioned stuff like arranged marriages. I think they respect her wishes? Like she will make her own life decisions kind of thing.

So if you are against this marriage, I would say there will be people who would support you to reject it (People who care about you sincerely will always respect your wishes). Parents are awkward, at least from my personal experience. Explain to them what you want. And if they don't agree, its time to take matters into your own hands.

I would suggest try communicating with your fiancé. If he's a jerk its your choice to tolerate him or abandon him and run away.

So guys were the same situation now? ugh what’s wrong with our parents??!! I’m already old so why they need to decide my life??! this is pissed me off!!

I do have many female friends so its not like I'm banned from interacting with them. I guess they just want to place some distance between us because we're not the same sex and it might be harmful or uncomfortable for others because I can be a blockhead most of the time.

I can definitely say that they are just strict towards me because they only mean well. I can't say that about your parents because I don't know them. Don't worry! I have amazing parents who would definitely consider my opinion before making any decisions concerning my life! the same for my sister! (=・ω・=)
