Of course! You're supposed to feel so bad for him that he becomes your favorite character in the story, put him up on a pedestal where the light shining out of his ass will illuminate the entire world, and you'll subsequently forget all about the main characters. You'll also forget how he was a fucking dickhead for trying to steal someone else's woman.
