Yeah that's why I can't wrap my head around people disliking her. I'm not mad about it, I just don't get it because Maxi makes an effort to be better. Also, considering her background, she could be worse but she's not entirely helpless. She understands the knights' pov, she asks the castle's workers for their opinions/needs, and she even tries to learn how to manage the place while Riftan is away.

Honestly in my opinion, she's one of the best FM. Imagine when she overcomes everything and has the confidence to go with it.

We have are own tast and opinion, like some of us here Doesn't like (But Doesn't Hate Also) Female (Or Even Male) Characters, who just grow strong out of nowhere, But some/most people out thier like those types, and that's absolutely fine! I don’t agree at all. Yeah she’s strong like mentally, but liking badass women, like ones who are assertive, strong, independent is not “through male view”. Women can be independent , strong, skilled at fighting etc., sassy, savage and overall just not to push around and that has nothing to do with men or being macho. Why do u even associate those with men only? Those characteristics are not exclusive to them and I would say that viewing them as such is actually patriarchal rather then other way around.

I do know her background and I do like her as a character and I know it might be realistic cause of trauma and all. I just prefer more assertive, uncaring, cold and like sassy? I guess characters. The ones that don’t care what others think, are very intelligent and physically skilled. Characters who are independent and overall u just can’t fuck with them. I guess it’s because characters like her frustrate me, and cause I would want to (and in a way I am) be like that myself. I still like her, it’s just SHES not my like favorite type of character. I totally do! I’m just sharing my own view. I’m also not a fan of people who suddenly become strong, but rather way before, just didn’t show it. Or use their knowledge of a novel/past life (cause that’s what I usually read) to make good strategies and decisions. I just don’t like when FL’s depend too much on ML’s. Maybe because of misogyny and sexism I’ve met in my life when people always expected women to be dependent on men. That’s why I like independent and strong ones cause they are like kinda my role models. I don’t like the ones that suddenly grow strong either, like I like it when it’s a process or they already were like that.

Yes, she’s realistic and very sweet. I definitely don’t dislike her. Also I like the fact that they gave her a stutter, I think it makes it more interesting. She’s just too submissive for me.

I get where your coming from! I actually I get where the frustration comes from, thiers to many stories out thier that potray women as "weak" and needs a man to help her stand up... (Not connected to our topic, but I think that's one of the reason I like GL (Or BL) in some parts, Like because it's two of the same gender we really can't sense any misogyny that much {in most that is}, like in Both BL and GL, Partner A can be Weak and Parnter B can be strong, so it balances the system, That Both gender Can Have/allowed to have Both strong and weak. That the gender doesn't defy our strengths.)

And I understand that! Kinda have the same thoughts with Heroes and Villains, I adore the hero to be able to stay good in thier F*cked up world, and I do understand the villains It's just sometimes I can't grow to like them (Like most people end up Loving them), Thier Also my role models... (You know to try to keep fighting even if the world gives you all the f*cking reason to just give up)...

I'm also sharing my thoughts that! They are allowed not to like, what they don't like, simply saying that Maximilian is weak, Not because Women here are potrayed weak, (in about a few couple of chapters will meet a Really independent Woman who's verry well Respected), she's weak beacause that's the flow of the stories.

You see I adore this story because It mainly focuses, Yes maximilian and Riftan Growth as a Couple, but mainly Maximilian Growth how she slowly learns to trust, to open up, to get careless, to realize she doesn't need to be useful for people to like her, and to see this one shy, anxious, low selfesteem. She's weak because the point of the story is for us to see her grow strong as a person. And as you said you love those kinds of stories so I hope you stick around!

Ps: I'm Sorry I feel like I'm argueing with you, as you said you don't hate maxi, you understand her character, and Thank you for that! Most of my thoughts are directed to people who simply hate on maxi without trying to understand her character entirely, they simply see her "weak" and not that she's trying, she's doing her best, but fighting your inner demons is hard... Hella Hard...
